PERSU Trainers

In April of 2003 my life changed forever, my Dad passed away from an unhealthy lifestyle. He had done what he could to get healthy and physically fit but he died of heart failure at the age of 49. I believe he tried his best to get into good shape but he lacked discipline, structure and the guidance it takes to get life altering results.
Looking back, I know he could have prolonged his lifespan by investing into Persu, Personal Training for Groups. He needed an outside push, he needed to do it for more than just his family, and he needed a way to stay consistent. Persu training is proving to be the most effective method for fat loss, motivation, fun, and helping people to stay consistent.
I started personal training school on my 29th birthday in April of 2008, so it even took me time to realize my dream and to help people like my Dad. Now, after 4 years in the industry, I’ve helped all kinds of people, from younger athletes with specific sports related goals to much older ex-athletes that want to regain some of their athleticism. Over the years I’ve had a lot of fun training athletic people with perform better goals but I’ve always come back to the real reason I got into this industry, my Dad.
That is why I partnered with Mindy McFall and opened Folsom Lake Fitness. Together we have developed a fun high quality personal training studio designed with the greatest generation in mind. Our exercise programs enable people to look better, feel better and perform better, through unique systems of resistance training and high intensity cardio.
I am proud of the work we’re doing at Folsom Lake Fitness.

My passion for empowering women to live healthy, confident lives stemmed from my own personal journey and the breakthroughs that occurred. As a self-proclaimed, “non-athlete,” I struggled for many years with negative self-image and like many women, often felt self-conscious in my physical abilities and in my own skin. Although I did not see it at the time, these negative self-beliefs really prevented me from personal growth and from achieving things that were outside of my comfort zone.
It wasn’t until July of 2003, when I mustered up enough courage to run my first 5k race, that I had an inkling of what I was capable of. To my surprise, I discovered that I actually had a natural ability for endurance running and that I thrived in competitive events. It was the first time that I felt empowered to embrace a different life and a more positive self-image.
Nine years later, I am now a certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, a running coach, and a certified personal trainer. I am a Boston Marathon qualifier and have placed top 5 in my age group for several local road races. I love staying active and challenging my body in new ways. Along with distance running, I have a passion for Olympic style weightlifting, yoga, and kickboxing. I never thought that I would consider myself an “athlete” but I now know this is who I am meant to be.
My desire is to bring out the “athlete” in all women by helping them find their 5k moment. Along with Daniel Porter, we created Folsom Lake Fitness to give people an authentic fitness experience that results in a high level of confidence and physical ability. Our mission is to empower the men and women of Folsom to age with ease, lose weight, get in shape, keep up with their kids, look great, tone up, and feel productive throughout the day. Folsom Lake Fitness is YOU!
